Common bearing types of CNC rotary table

1. Thrust ball bearing+cylindrical roller bearing: thrust ball bearing can bear a certain axial force, so the bearing is mainly used to bear the weight of the workpiece; Cylindrical roller bearings are mainly used for radial positioning and bearing external radial forces (such as cutting force, milling force etc). This kind of bearing is widely used.

2. Static bearing+Precision Cylindrical Roller bearing: Static bearing is a kind of sliding bearing which gets pressure oil by external supply and establishes static bearing oil film to realize liquid lubrication. The static bearing works under liquid lubrication from start to stop, so it has no wear with long service life and low starting power. In addition, this kind of bearing also has the advantages of high rotation precision, high oil film stiffness, and also can restrain oil film oscillation. The precision cylindrical roller bearing has good radial bearing capacity, and the rotary precision of the turntable can also be well guaranteed because of the use of precision grade bearing. The turntable with this kind of bearing can bear very high axial force. Some workpieces weigh more than 200 tons and the diameter of the turntable is more than 10 meters.

3. Cross roller bearings: cross roller bearings are also widely used on the turntable. The characteristics of cross roller bearings: there are two raceways and two rows of intersected rollers in the bearings. Compared with the traditional thrust bearing and radial centering bearing combination, the cross roller bearing is compact in structure, compact in size, and simplified in the design of the worktable, thus it reduces the cost of the turntable.

Generally speaking, as the spindle and core component of CNC turntable, bearing plays an important role in the performance of CNC turntable. In order to choose the appropriate size and type of bearing, we need to consider all kinds of working conditions.
