Selection of material for rolling bearing ring and rolling body

Rolling bearing is a kind of bearing which is widely used in our daily life. It is mainly composed of outer ring, inner ring, rolling body and cage. For the ring and rolling body of rolling bearing, the choice of material is very important. These two parts can determine the performance of the rolling bearing. We can choose the material of rolling bearing ring and rolling body according to the demand.

I. High carbon chromium bearing steel

Most bearing rings and rolling body are made of special steel. Rings and rolling body are manufactured with high-carbon chromium bearing steel GCr15, GCr15SiMn, ZGCr15 and ZGCr15SiMn. The hardness of the parts is as follows:

Hardness of the coils and rollers made with GCr15 and ZGCr15 materials is HRC61-65, and the material of steel balls is HRC62-66; Hardness of the coils and rollers made with GCr15SiMn and ZGCr15SiMn materials is HRC60~64, and the material of steel balls is HRC60~66.

The bearings made of high carbon chromium bearing steel are generally suitable for working temperature range of -40-130 degrees. Oil and grease lubrication is normal, and it can meet the requirements of general machinery.

High-carbon chromium bearing steel bearing parts after high-temperature tempering can bear the operating temperature of more than 250 degrees.

II. Carburized bearing steel

The hardness of the rings and rolling bodies made of Carburized bearing steel is HRC60-64, generally suitable for the working temperature of -40-140 degrees. Oil and grease lubrication is normal. It can be used under the condition of large shock vibration, such as rolling stock and rolling mill bearings. The heat treatment process is more complex.

III. Heat-resistant bearing steel

The hardness of the rings and rolling bodies made of heat-resistant bearing steel is HRC60-64 and the hardness of steel ball is HRC61-65. Under normal lubricating conditions, it can be used under the working temperature range of 120-250 degrees, such as aeroengine, gas turbine.

IV. Corrosion resistant bearing steel

The hardness of the rings and rolling bodies made of corrosion resistant bearing steel should not be lower than HRC58. It is suitable for corrosive media such as water, nitric acid, chemical reagent and the working temperature range of -253~350 degrees.
